The dress

The first part of today's post is for Greetje, who wanted to see the dress I was wearing in my last post. In fact it wasn't clearly visible in the photo of me sitting on the bench.

Armani-Furla

Now I am wearing it with my  boots, a blue bag

and a red necklace.

As temperatures are low at the moment here, I am wearing the dress on another one and then, when I go out, I add a long candigan on top.

By the way, the dinner which I had been talking of last time, has been a success, ( it also included homemade  tortellini, and that sounds really unbeliable !! )

With Christmas and New Year's day which are at the back, now there is only one celebration left, on the 6th of January

In Italy, according to the tradition, an old, ugly woman, flying on her broom, will bring presents to good children. For those who misbehave, there will be a stocking filled with ( sweet ) coal...

If you  hung your stocking ( I always do ), I hope there will be some presents in it!

    1. Hi, Olga! The colour of the dress is difficult to define ... it is halfway between blue and violet, in photos it is a bit different...

    1. Happy New Year to you too, Dana! I often wear two dresses one on another longer one, generally because ... dresses are too short for me !

You sewed delightful stockings, I think I should copy your idea and prepare a special one ....

  5. Another lovely dress. So clever to wear it on another dress for warmth. This type of dress is difficult for me as the sleeves are too short and you need to have hips to shape the dress. You have them, I don't. So you look ever so gorgeous in it. I like the addition of the red necklace. Very pretty. As is your blue bag!!! I still am very happy with my blue bag too.
Your shoes make everything modern. I am hopeless at shoes. Just know how to buy pumps.

    1. When you bought the blue bag I realized I hadn't got one in that colour ... and than I found that Piper Furla bag which seemed waiting for me! :-)

Those shoes go well with thick dark tights ... ( perfect for winter! ) my frozen feet couldn't stay a whole day in a pair of pumps! :-)

    2. I go to the office with thick boots and change when I have arrived. Then I can walk in pumps all day with the heating on. And walking on carpet. (Some pumps have hardly seen any streets haha.)

    3. Lucky woman!! There are no carpets around where I work ... :-(

    1. Hi dear, and I wish you a wonderful New Year!
The trick of the dress underneath allows me to wear many of my dresses ( almost ) the whole year round!

  12. What a fabulous design, this shade of blue is marvelous! You have the figure for it! I do layers too but I never thought of layering a dress over a dress like you did, great idea! I like the necklace with it.

I still have my Christmas tree up, I am in no hurry to take it down because I love Christmas and January is so dull without Christmas lights.

    Happy New Year my dear!

    1. Hi Carmen! With your perfect figure you can wear a dress over another one ! I find the trick works well in winter ...
I am missing the Christmas lights, the city looks sad without them ... at home, my husband ( who is in charge for decorations ) always undo the tree before going back to work! :-(

  13. Dan,
I love your blue dress and I'm so very glad that you showed it here. How smart it was of you to layer two dresses. It is cold to New York and I hate it ! I'm so glad to know that your dinner was a success. Happy new year and I hope that this year brings all good things.

  14. I hate cold weather too! I don't like going out when temperatures are too low! Luckily January also means that, little by little, spring is approaching ... ( and with it jackets, silk scarves and so on! )
Happy New Year to you, dear...
