Red lipstick and Christmas decorations

My mirror  recently was reflecting a more tired and older face ...
( can a mirror  shows also your  soul???)

So I tried a simple, not invasive solution which could help:
a very bright red lipstick!

I usually am  wearing neutral colours, but at the moment a vitaminic colour probably suits me better...and I gave it a chance!

Secondly, I wanted a warmer atmosphere at home

hence, on Sunday afternoon, I spent some time decorating it for Christmas

I know it's a bit early, but ... why don't break the rule ?

( old pair of boots )

Next week ... my third, most important decision!!

p.s.
Many thanks, my dear friends for all your supporting comments on last week's post...♥♥

  2. That's a great lipstick color on you! And a great outfit!

I'm also wearing very neutral lipstick colors and have been thinking that I need to find a lipstick with a bit more color. It's a bit tricky for me as I'm very pale and many colors don't look good...

    Enjoy your Christmas decorations!

  3. Never under estimate the difference a new lipstick can make to make you feel a little better, your new colour suits you very well. Enjoy adding some bright with your Christmas decorating. Take care , no doubt you are still very sad about your recent loss.

    1. Yes Jill, I am sad. It has been a melancholic week and I tried to find something which could make me feel me better ... a new lipstick and some decorations are little things of course ...

  5. I agree with you, what can better refresh a face than a bright coloured lipstick? Always works for me and as I can see works with you too. Nice colour, not too bright, and suits you very well. Pretty casual look, love the furry collar!

  7. I'm agreeing totally. On the days I don't want to put on my makeup, I find that filling in my eyebrow (I'm pretty hairless) and putting on bright lipstick does the trick----it makes me feel good and I bet others don't realize that's all I did!!! jodie

    1. A lady should always do what makes her feel good!!! :-) I felt I needed more brightness and so decided for the colour ... a totally different one from those which I usually wear!

  10. I am all for red lipstick. Without it, I look washed out. And it looks good on you too. Wise decision.
Your outfit looks very good on you. Makes me laugh to see you more in trousers and me more in skirts.
The blue sweater is beautiful. I like the neckline. And I have to think of elongating such a sweater with another top, because it creates more interest. I keep forgetting it. As for Christmas decorations... we have to wait in The Netherlands until after December 5. Sint Nicolas (remember?).
On your last note: I think I know what your third decision is.

    1. Yes, I am wearing trousers more often recently ... at the moment we are having low temperatures here and, besides, I am not still sure about how to style my wide skirts in winter!
About Saint Nicolas:I would have loved waiting until the day, but ... I have already eaten both my letter and Vincenzo's!!
Finally:if you want to verify if your flair about my third decision is correct ... look at the right corner in the bottom of my first photo! :-)

  14. Love the color of the sweater, I used to have one very similar and wore it until it looked so bad I couldn't anymore. I need another!

I think I have figured out what the third decision is, and I have to admit that I did the exact same thing when I was in your situation. Did not regret it either! Hubby and I were just talking about that this afternoon, it's been 7 years this week...can't wait to see the next post!!

  16. Such a lovely shade of lipstick Dan.

Let me say that I think you look as gorgeous as ever, but yes I do believe that mirrors reflect our souls. Grief and sadness can make us look tired and/or older...but that is only until our heart begins to heal.
