A different kind of holiday!

I spent part of the summer at my second home by the sea
and then some days at Orta by the beautiful lake.
When we went back home my husband was ready for another time by the sea but I wasn't.
At the end I made up my mind to stay at home

The fact is that we have recently moved house and I desired enjoying my new flat for a week before going back to work!

What did I do?

I ate a lot of sushi and watermelon

Went to the supermarket with  Grillo
(Isn't it cute that they allow him to come in a dedicated cart?)

Had relaxing breaks for a coffee
( life is so hard, why don't slow down now and then?  )

I red some good novels comfortably sat  on my favourite armchair...

Of course I made a new necklace ...
( Have you ever noticed how long is the day when you are alone?)

Being alone I had plenty of time for everything I like , also for a walk in the city!

It definitely was a different kind of holiday!

  1. Oh, Grillo is super lovely and your new necklace is great!
I would love to try the combination of Sushi and watermelon.
I really love your dining room, that is similar to 'Ieri, Oggi, Domani ' which is one of my favorite film<3

    1. I am very fond of sushi! I only wander if the one you buy in Japan is the same I eat here ... ( spaghetti you eat abroad are so different to those you eat in Italy )
The photos I took at home refers to my kitchen ( the 4th one ) and to my bedroom ( the 7th )...remember that you have a special invitation to see my part of the world when you like!!

I was surprised to read that you saw that film! I like it too ...

  3. Oh how I wish I had been with you this week!! Although that would have been, again, another type of holiday for you. But I still cannot walk more than 500 meters. Slowly, very, very slowly the Knee is improving but as you might have read in my latest blog post, patience is not one of my virtues. Love to see Grillo’s against the table. So sweet. Your flat must be lovely.
As always I love your necklaces. From the first one I saw one. You are really talented. Great with that dress! Who took your picture in that passage/galleria?

    1. I would have loved to spend some days with you. Of course I would have kept in due account the fact that you wasn't able to walk long...
In any case I am glad to hear that the knee is improving!

My sister took the photos in Turin ( Galleria Subalpina )

    2. Me not being able to walk long means... not more than 500 meters on a stretch. I wouldn’t even make Schiphol airport 🙃.

  5. Sometimes it's nice to have some alone time, and I agree that it is surprising how long a day can be then, and the amount of things you can do! Now that my husband is retired, I hardly ever have some time alone at home. When he was still at work, I sometimes took a day off just to potter around the house on my own! Love the glimpses of your new flat, the cute photos of Grillo (especially the second one), and the necklace you made. Love the dress you're wearing too! xxx

    1. How perfectly you understood my feelings! I wandered around from one room to another doing something here and there ... I hung a new picture in the sitting room and throw away old stuff I didn't like anymore...
