Max Mara group
At the enf of October I generally start appreciating the autumn ( probably because the summer is a faded memory )
enjoying its quiet beauty
and wearing soft, warm clothes.
Glenfield
It's time to wear my poncho again!
Today the sun and light make the day very pleasant ...
But a perfect fall day couldn't be really perfect without chestnuts!
which remind me when I lived with my parents in a big cottage in the country. Every year we prepared chestnuts in the garden and they were delicious!!
Sweet memories... sweet and a bit melancholic just like autumn...
This poncho looks great, so elegant! Shame but I have not ever tried chestnuts! They are on my "wish list" though.
ReplyDeleteHi Olga! That sounds funny to me that you have never tasted chestnuts...they are very popular here!
DeleteWe used to have chestnuts as a kid..Chestnut stuffing as well..Love your poncho
ReplyDeleteDear Missy , I am so pleased to read your comment!
DeleteChestnuts stuffing? They surely ard fantastic! ( I have never tasted yet...)
You look very elegant, Dan. I love the shot of the handbag alone on the bench. When I think of chestnuts, I'm always reminded of a famous Christmas carol....chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose....
ReplyDeleteYes Glenda, the second photo is good. Blogging is improving my way to look at things around me and I pay more attention to details. The shadows below the bench and the bright light made a good job!
Deletep.s.
lovable Christmas carol ...
dan, ponchos are making a comeback. When I was in high school in the 70's they were so 'in'... but so were earth tones so we mainly wore them in shades of brown, beige and orange. I love this one. It appears to be the perfect weight for your dress. I like your elegant look, as always!
ReplyDeleteI always like to know about little details of my blogger- friends' lives! Yes, in the 70s ponchos were very common in Italy too...fashion trends often come back, so...never throw clothes away!!
DeleteSuch a cute outfit, perfect for fall! I love this grey cosy poncho.

Ponchos are nice in autumn and keep the shoulders warm. I like their soft hug!
DeleteI love your fantastic poncho! Kisses.

I am glad that you like!
DeleteBeautiful and elegant your dress and your beautiful and elegant poncho.
ReplyDeleteToday I took the first chestnuts . Me too I love.
In Northern Spain are very common. And at this time taken with sweet cider .
There are many celebrations and is typical of autumn.
Kisses
At last I have found someone else who eats chestnuts! I think they are very good with cider! Ponchos are very versatile and...so cozy!
DeleteIt's true. There is something beautiful and melancholy about Autumn. You look so elegant.
ReplyDeleteThanks Connie, I am glad that you like...
DeleteSuch a pretty look. It looks cosy and elegant at the same time. A perfect combination for the first days of autumn. It seems, that you live in a very nice region of (my beloved) Italy. Love the photos.

Thanks, Karin...I like wearing ponchos but I am afraid it won't be for long...temperatures are getting low here. :-( I live in a small city in the North-West of Italy, near to Turin
DeleteI love that poncho, it looks so soft and comfortable. Perfect for autumn! Beautiful photos too, the lighting was just perfect.
ReplyDeleteYes that was a nice day! Now the temperatures are completely different and I have to wear my coat...
DeleteAnd only one picture of that fantastic dress. Again you managed to present us a perfect picture. Love the dress and the poncho. (Everytime you show us yet another Max Mara dress I cringe because of the regret of having left so many perfect dresses behind haha.)
ReplyDeleteChestnusts is something we don't have in The Netherlands. Well ... of course we have them falling from trees yes, but hardly anybody prepares them for food. (Or at least in my circle of friends they don't.)
Greetje
I think that The Max Mara group should pay me for the advertising I do! :-) yes, my closet is full of MM dresses...this is the last one ( for the time being ) of a big set that I have bought at the outlet store!
DeleteFunny to read that you don't have chestnuts! Here is a street food which people often eat while strolling...
I am in love with ponchos, Dan and yours is especially nice! I usually wear them with trousers so thank you for the inspiration - I will soon wear it with a dress!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are so lovely!
Have a nice week,

DeleteI love this sphisticated outfit! And I'm envious: you look fabulous in grey.
ReplyDeleteHi, Tiina! Gray is one of my favourite colours in winter! Thanks for commenting....
DeleteDan, another of your fantastic dresses, it goes so well with the grey poncho, which you wear so well. Enjoy your chestnuts and the Autumn days.
ReplyDeleteThe only bad side of chestnuts is that...they make your hands terribly dirty!!
DeletePiękne poncho. Cały zestaw jest bardzo elegancki.
ReplyDeleteNigdy nie jadłam kasztanów... Może kiedyś jak będę znów w Hiszpanii - będzie okazja. Pozdrawiam serdecznie.
Hi, Barbarossa! And thanks for commenting...
DeleteYou look beautiful dear Dan, a lovely autumnal look and elegant poncho! I love your dress! Fantastic photos - the bench looks so inviting!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy eating chestnuts, a wonderful memory of my childhood when I would pass by the chestnut stand at the corner of the street while walking home from school and buy warm chestnuts in a little brown paper bag. :-)
Have a happy weekend!
