Poncho and chestnuts

Max Mara group

At the enf of October I generally start appreciating the autumn ( probably because the summer is a faded memory  )

enjoying its quiet beauty

 and wearing soft, warm clothes.

Glenfield

It's time to wear my poncho again!
Today the sun and light make the day very pleasant ...

But a perfect fall day couldn't be really perfect without  chestnuts!

which remind me when I lived with my parents in a big cottage in the country. Every year we prepared chestnuts in the garden and they were delicious!!

Sweet memories... sweet and a bit melancholic just like autumn...

  3. You look very elegant, Dan. I love the shot of the handbag alone on the bench. When I think of chestnuts, I'm always reminded of a famous Christmas carol....chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose....

    1. Yes Glenda, the second photo is good. Blogging is improving my way to look at things around me and I pay more attention to details. The shadows below the bench and the bright light made a good job!
      p.s.
      lovable Christmas carol ...

  4. dan, ponchos are making a comeback. When I was in high school in the 70's they were so 'in'... but so were earth tones so we mainly wore them in shades of brown, beige and orange. I love this one. It appears to be the perfect weight for your dress. I like your elegant look, as always!

Today I took the first chestnuts . Me too I love.
In Northern Spain are very common. And at this time taken with sweet cider .
There are many celebrations and is typical of autumn.

  11. And only one picture of that fantastic dress. Again you managed to present us a perfect picture. Love the dress and the poncho. (Everytime you show us yet another Max Mara dress I cringe because of the regret of having left so many perfect dresses behind haha.)
Chestnusts is something we don't have in The Netherlands. Well ... of course we have them falling from trees yes, but hardly anybody prepares them for food. (Or at least in my circle of friends they don't.)

Funny to read that you don't have chestnuts! Here is a street food which people often eat while strolling...

  17. You look beautiful dear Dan, a lovely autumnal look and elegant poncho! I love your dress! Fantastic photos - the bench looks so inviting!

I enjoy eating chestnuts, a wonderful memory of my childhood when I would pass by the chestnut stand at the corner of the street while walking home from school and buy warm chestnuts in a little brown paper bag. :-)

    Have a happy weekend!
