Summer is the season in which I realize most of my stuff.
Mainly, for two reasons: the long days off work and my staying in the Ligurian hinterland.
Plus, the other day, surfing in the net, I came across Antonello Tedde's luxury bags
( hand-woven for holidays, perfect for sea resort, chic anytime! )
Well, it was a flash! I wanted something of the kind...
a huge, cotton bag for the beach!
In a few days it was sewed and ready!!
( not really ready, as you can see, many flowers haven't got the central part yet... )
Ready or not, I couldn't wait to start using it ( will have plenty of time to finish it in the next days )
By the way, loose Liviana Conti dress for me today ...
matched to my new beach bag of course!
Now I can fully enjoy my holidays, at least ... until my next project!!!
What a cute bag. Perfect for Summer. You have good taste!ReplyDelete
Thanks, Shybiker This is a pretty compliment!Delete
What talent you have!! I love the bag! jodieReplyDelete
It is a simple shape and it took me only a few days to make it...I am glad that you like!Delete
Oh... holiday... so nice... I envy you. Have a lovely time my dear. Making all those new and lovely necklaces as the one you are wearing today. And that bag is adorable. I knew you are very creative with beads but I did not know you can also sew. And embroider. A woman with many talents as Jodie said.ReplyDelete
I can only sew very simple things. For the bag I just folded a small cotton rug, then added the trimmings with tassels, the handles and some details of chocheting...a very easy project ! ( You know I have a lot of spare time in summer and here there are so few occasions of doing some shopping!! )Delete
Did you sew the bag at home? Or at your holiday home? Or do you have a sewing machine in both places?Delete
I have only a small sewing machine ( at home ), which proves I don't often sew... but, since the rug was very thick, I mostly sewed it by hand with a long needle for mattress...it has been a hard job, but I absolutely wanted to make my beach bag! Sometimes I am soooo stubborn... :-)Delete
My goodness... by hand. You are a very perseverant woman.Delete
Beautiful, I like your version better than your inspiration! And it's so fun to make something like that because you can customize it the way you want it. I hope you are enjoying your holiday.ReplyDelete
This is a great compliment, Flo! If I only think how much Tedde's bags cost!!Delete
Making stuff is a very relaxing hobby ...
So nice bag, well done! Such a lovely print and all those charming pompons! Pretty dress too, love the colour! And the necklace is just perfect for the look.ReplyDelete
Both the bag and the necklace are fruit of my creative summery mood ... :-)Delete
Enjoy your holidays and catching up with all your crafty projects. The bag is just lovely as it is but will be keen to see the finished project, Looking cool and comfortable in your loose style dress with more great beads.ReplyDelete
Thanks, Jill! Long hot days, summer sounds to hear, a hidden world to discover and, of course, many projects to realize...these are my fantastic lazy holidays!Delete
What a lovely bag Dan! I am not crafty, but I see you are. Love the burgundy colored easy breezy dress for summer, and the necklace is a perfect compliment!ReplyDelete
Thank you for linking up with Turning Heads Tuesday
Thanks, Jessica! As you can see, the dress has got a big neckline : this is the reason why I made a necklace to pair...Delete
Dan I'm swooning over this entire look. Perfections. And oh my goodness, that delicious bag -both the one you're carrying and the blue and white. You've got quite a distinctive eye for quality bags.ReplyDelete
I have a real passion for beautiful bags, Glenda! And ... I can sniff the perfume of a bargain from miles away!! :-)Delete
LOVE the colour of this dress! Your purse is so cute and the necklace is beautiful. What a pretty bag for summer ... and the beach! I am going on a vacation to Germany!ReplyDelete
Enjoy your holidays!
I wish you the best vacation! And if you you decided to come to Italy...don't forget you have a dear friend here!!!Delete
Tres chic! I love the dress, the way it drops, the colour, and the complementary necklace. I also love the bag. Make the most of summer! :)ReplyDelete
Loose dresses are the most comfortable when temperatures are high, and , we are having so hot days!Delete
dan, all I can say is WOW! This bag is incredible and I'm so impressed that you undertook such a project. I love the fabric and the ball fringe trim, but I especially like the detailed trim on the side seams. I think it's wonderful that you didn't stress about taking it out and about even though you don't think you are 100% finished with the embellishments. That's a sign of real confidence. Did you create the pattern or did you follow a set of instructions. I really love it! Hugs, DanaReplyDelete
What a kind comment, dear Dana! You are a really sweet person...Delete
About the bag :I didn't follow any pattern or instructions as I wanted it ... 100% my ( imperfect ) style!
Let me get this straight... You MADE this! I LOVE this bag, so much more than the one you showed . You have a great eye! The morals + the pom pom trim is to die for!ReplyDelete
oh... dear.. my typing.. i meant florals. and not morals... eek, my keyboard and me must learn to work together better!ReplyDelete
Thanks, Elle! My small keyboard and my old eyes don't often agree, so...I can understand you!Delete
