Summer feelings

Today's post is dedicated to  the upsides of summer season!
1st : you can wear sandals
( have you ever thought how pleasant it is? )

2nd :  enjoy  dresses with a wide neckline
( and feel the breeze on your  bare skin )

3rd : have a lot of time for making relaxing things!
( and be proud  of realizing  simple projects ... )

4th : stay under a very light blue sky
( and enjoy the brightness of  colours )

Is there something you especially associate to summer?

If I should choose one, it would probably be the smell of a fig sprig just broken ...

P.s.
Nothing news in my today's outfit ... now and again  I don't do shopping
( but only for a very short time!! )

  1. Love the sandals and simple black dress. I love the bracelet and the simple fact that you made it. You described the pleasures of summer so perfectly! Very inspiring, as is the feel of the breeze on your back!

    1. I have many beautiful memories of past summers and they are often related to smells or tastes. Though years have passed by those days , the memories stay still in my mind ..

  2. Very nice summer outfit! And I almost can't believe that you haven't been shopping... ;-)

I love summer because I work a lot less, the kid doesn't have school, and summer produce is the best, especially tomatoes!

  4. The joys of the simplicity of Summer fashion, love that dress and sandals.
Although I must admit to enjoying Winter jackets, coats , hats, etc. more you can't beat the feel of the sun on your skin and of course the Summer produce.
Enjoy the best of your Summer days.

    1. I think that in cold seasons you can have fun matching clothings in different ways more than in summer, when with high temperatures, you only wear a dress or a t-shirt and a skirt.
But summer is the season of light, heat, bright colours and strong smells ...

  6. I love the smell of freshly mown grass and the sound of the ice-cream van in our street, which both remind me of childhood summers. Oh, and wearing sandals, of course, although I didn't have much opportunity to wear them this year as our summer hasn't been particularly good so far. No shopping? It seems you have been a "good girl", Dan ;-) xxx

  7. There are so many benefits of every season in my thinking!! That's why I love being able to live in a place that experiences them all!
My absolute favorite part about summer is the light---I love getting up when it's light outside and still having light later on in the evenings!!
Beautiful bracelet, Dan---did you crochet it or tat it?

  8. I agree with you on sandals! And bare feet. And not having to wear socks!

For me, the smell that makes me thinking summer is mown grass as well. And some of the flowers when they bloom, especially lilacs. And corn on the cob, it's just coming in here so I need to go get some this weekend for one or two of our dinners. Summer...It will be gone before we know it.

  9. As you know I love the dress. And you have very pretty feet, which is why you like sandals. They are airy and nothing is pinching your toes. For me summer is sunshine and warm weather. Not a lot of that going on in The Netherlands.
I see that you are making new jewellery and with different techniques. Crocheting?
