An absent minded person...

Alberta Ferretti-Alysi-Max Mara group

Layers again, this week.In winter it is quite confortable for me, as you can never know...

Today it is a sunny day, nothing to do with the cold days of last week

And I have some time to tell you what happened to me a couple of weeks ago...

...I went to one of those outlet villages where I buy my stuff and I bought a pair of new black boots.

( To be precise the ones I was wearing in my previous post )

Gianfranco Ferrè

While I was coming back, since I couldn't wait until I was at home, I decided to  try my new boots on, and put the old ones in a plastic bag.

When at home I wanted to put them away, but...

Max Mara

In the bag there was only one of those!

Geox

Two weeks passed by , and I am still wondering what happened to the other  one!
Have you ever known a more absent minded person??

  2. I can tell you what happened. You put them in the plastic bag but there was little room for the second boot. So it fell back out of the bag on the ground and you did not notice. So go back to the place where you put them in the bag and ask around whether somebody is still holding on to that one black boot. You already found your prince, so I hope they don't ask you to try it on haha.
Your outfit is elegant and the purple is a lovely colour. Because of the dots in the top, the red scarf looks very good with it. I like that.
Your face is radiant when you give a big smile. Makes you even more beautiful.

  4. I like your explanation about the loss of my boot! Surely you are right , but I don't think I can have it back. Probably the only thing to do is throw the other one away!
( and that could be a good reason for a new purchase! )
Recently we have had higher temperatures and it has been possible to wear just a blouse and a cardigan. I don't like too cold days!
I took the photos on Saturday and I felt I had a lot of spare time before Monday, that was probably the reason of my smiling!!!

  5. You look lovely, my dear Dan!!

I lost a favorite glove (just one) while I was out on a photo shoot. I had searched and searched to no avail and I never expected to find my glove again. Several weeks later I found it!

I hope you will find your other boot, don't throw it away yet. You just might find it.

    1. You were very lucky, Carmen to find your glove again! I have lost many objects in my life ( I am very absent minded ) but never found them... several years ago I left a pair of pretty sunglasses on a bench! Yes I could keep my boot for some more time...you can never know!!

  7. How disappointing to loose a great shoe like this! I hope you can find it, maybe go back to the store? You are smiling anyway, looking cute for winter. The red and purplish blue is a great contrast and what a cool top. I do love the shoes you have on in these pictures.

    1. Yes, Ann loosing things is very disappointing indeed! The shoe I have lost whasn't new, so its loss isn't a problem. I just would like to know what happened to it!
I often take photos on Saturday, which for me isn't a working day...perhaps that is the reason of my smiling !

  8. I'm sorry for you to loose one of your new shoes. Maybe the salesperson gives you just one of it?

Your layer-look is perfect for this season. I like the dots of the blouse, very pretty.

    1. Thanks. Gray and red is a nice combination of colours, isn't it? Luckily the boot I have lost is one of my old ones. I changed shoes in the car after my purchase because I wanted to wear the new ones... so what happened is my fault....

  9. Oh no! Sounds like something I would do. I like your outfit though--you look very fashionable, I know sometimes when you are layering you don't feel like you do, but you definitely pull it off. I hope the shoe turns up. And stay warm--bitter cold here today, the high will be 19 F--it was 7 overnight. I'm ready for spring already!

  10. Dan. I'm back. The health problems of my family have been settled. Thank God.
I like your symphony of gray. It is understated and elegant, like you. The coat is perfect and you look very pretty.
The confusions are more common than you think. Almost all have as we neglect a little.
    Where your boot appear?
Photos of the pillars and the door seem precious.

    1. Hi, dear Curra! I am happy to hear that you have solved your family problems: that is the most important thing... I have lost my boot in the car, probably I put it in the plastic bag and then I trew it away! In any case it is still missing....
I took the photos in Torino next to a beautiful old building ...

  11. You look gorgeous, Dan, you know I love your style.
Of course it is sad you lost your other shoe but probably at heart you didn't want to wear your old shoes any longer and now you can't ;-)

    1. Thanks, Annette! I am glad that you like my style.
There must be some truth in your words...I had a new pair of boots so, why I needed the old ones? And then I lost the shoe...

  12. Oh man...that is a drag! LOL

My husband is just back from 6 weeks away on business and he told me he purposefully left a pair of favorite old dress shoes he loved in Morocco because they were so worn out. He didn't want to be tempted to wear them anymore when he has literally 50 other pairs to choose from. (Yes I am not the only fashionaholic in my family). So maybe subconsciously you didn't want to wear those older boots anymore.

You look warmer here. Please pass some of that over here : )

    bisous

  13. Wow! 50 pairs of shoes are a great number for a man!
Yes, I probably didn't want my old boots anymore and so I lost one of them!
Here we are enjoying sunny days, so it is easier to take photos outside...

    1. Hi Rebecca and thanks,. Cold weather isn't the best for trying to be stylish...
And about my shoe, well, that is what can happen to absent minded people like me :-》 !!
( I am still wondering what happened to my missing boot! )

  15. Love that top - it's a great pattern that will add so much to so many outfits. Too funny about the boots, but a little sad you are missing one! And TOTALLY something I would do. I need a checklist just to get out the door - my kids have started asking me if I have my keys before they lock the door behind us since I locked us out one day. And it was freeeezing and no neighbors were home with a spare key. It was a chilly wait for the locksmith. Long answer to say "yes, I can think of someone else who would do the same - ME!"
