Something to do

Is there a Muji  shop where you live?  For those of you who don't know, Muji is a Japanese brand and I first discovered it in London. It has several shops in the biggest cities of Europe ( I don't know if there are shops in the other continents ) and recently opened a two flore store  in  Torino

I like the items they sell because  have a minimalistic style.

Besides, I needed a new scrapebook for my sketches and they have very plain ones which I love.
After I bought it, I crossed the centre to go to a nice small square

where you can quietly sip one of the best cappuccino of Torino ( I never go home without a cappuccino-break! )

and connect your device to a wifi...

...by the way, have you noticed my pale yellow dress ( Twin-set ) ? As I found it was too short for a lady of about 50, I sewed a a  strip of silk fabric at the botton!  That is what I call...to personalize a dress!!

:-)

  1. Great minds think alike Dan, I almost did the same thing to a dress I recently bought! (and still might) I have never heard of that company, but I remember just loving the Japanese store at Disneyworld, when it comes to paper products and art supplies, they are some of the best. Banjio looks like he was enjoying the day out too.

    1. Bangio doesn't like staying at home alone, so he really enjoys everything we two do together!! ( and to tell the whole truth I love having him with me when I go out! )

  2. I didn#t know Muji and just saw there is (obviously a smaller) store in Munich. Probably dangerous for my wallet as you will always find things you never needed before ;-)

Love the yellow of your dress! I often have the same problem with the length. Especially brands like Mango or ZARA are often too short, what a shame! Twin-Set is a fabulous brand!

    1. Too many temptations, Annette!! :-) I like the Japanese style and I go to the shop for anything I terribly need... :-)

Twin-set has very cute clothes, but the same problem as Zara and Mango...and I am a tall person!!

  3. That is a clever idea Dan! You just gave me an idea. To the fabric shop I go! You dress is such a pretty shade of yellow. I hope you'll wear it again without the cardigan. I would love to see the complete dress.

  4. A lovely yellow dress and a great idea to add the fabric at bottom. It looks lovely belted with the cardigan. I just love your style and you always look like you've effortlessly achieved perfection.

  5. No Dan I don't know this brand. It is beautiful on you, very interesting design. I like how you added the fabric at the bottom. Looks like a great purchase for summer. So cute with the bag, belt and sweater.

  6. I love this look! The yellow is so pretty on you. .. and I love how you lengthened the dress. I'm getting out my sewing machine...

  7. There is no way you are approaching 50! You are so youthful :) yellow is perfect on you and your add on was a refined touch. I really want to come to Torino. My husband is encouraging me to do that, so maybe one day we will meet. I insist on sitting with you and sipping cappuccino. However, I will have to redesign my wardrobe if I am to hang out with someone so stylish. Hugs!

    1. Yes, Dana, next November I will be 50! ( time really flies!! )
It would be wonderful if you came to Torino!! Your husband is right in encouraging you! I am a real fan of cappuccino, and I am imagining to sip one with you quietly chatting ...any wardrobe would be nice on your slim and tall figure!

  8. I didn't know Muji either but googled and there is a new store in Melbourne, where I am visiting in June, so must check them out. I love Japanese stationery.Your city square is charming as indeed are you in that lovely yellow dress, clever adding the fabric for more length.

    1. Hi Jill, to tell the whole story about my dress, a few days afterwards, I changed the strip at the botton ...as I had found a checked yellow and green fabric! I will post soon...
      p.s.
I hope you will share some photos of Melbourne...

  9. I don't know Muji, but then again I don't sketch or draw. We have quite a few nice paper shops, but I run out of those. Like Annette, I would buy things I don't need just because they are so pretty.
Your dress surprised me as the style is so different from the things I have seen you wear before. On the other hand, you styled it your way with the cardigan and the belt. I like it very much. It is beautiful and out of the ordinary (which I love). Elongating the dress with silk is a clever idea. I have solved the "problem" once by adding a longer skirt underneath it which created the same effect.
    Looking good woman!

    1. Wearing a longer skirt underneath a short dress is a good idea to solve the problem! Women are the creative half of the world, and always find solutions for everything! :-)
Yes, today my clothes have a different style...I wanted a little change...but I am not sure I like...

  11. Sweet Dan, you look so very lovely. It's cool that your stylish ensemble matches some of the gorgeous Italian buildings in the backdrop. Your new journal is very charming! I adore its understated sweetness and charm. Are you tempted to sketch on the plain kraft cover, too? I would be. :)

    Big hugs,
    ♥ Jessica

  12. Hi Jessica! I have looked at the photos and realized that you are right! The same colours are both on my outfit and on the background!! ( funny I didn't noticed it before...)
About my scrapebook you have given me a good idea!

  13. I know Muji from Spain. In my area is no Muji store. That's a pitty, because the shop has great items.

Your yellow dress is pretty and has the perfect length. It's not easy to find a dress with a good length. Zara and mango is to short for me. :(
Have a great day, dear Dan
