Denim and uniforms

Les Copains

A casual look for me today. Denim never goes out of fashion!

My black bag

and a pair among my favourite shoes.

A nice morning in the city for a coffee sitting in the open air where I can see peole passing by ... ( which is something I really enjoy )

Men in uniform always attract my attention and their elegance never is out of fashion too!

They are very kind  in Italy, and ready to help!

These last two are wearing traditional uniforms not in use anymore. ( what a pity I wasn't fast enough to shoot them at the front ... )

Back to my dress ... and a little secret ...

... It is sleeves now, but wasn't when I bought it!

For me fashion is born to be personalized!!!

  3. I like your dress and of course I love your shoes. Further I think the italian uniforms are the most elegant ones I know. Just like you, i love it to watch the people passing by, while sitting in a café, but unfortunately it isn't warm enough yet, to do this outside.
    Kind regards, Karin

  4. Honestly, I can't imagine this dress with long sleeves. It just looks perfect the way you changed it, sleeveless. Maybe the outfit is casual but still you look smart. Men in uniform, ahhh, I love them too.

    1. They were 3/4sleeves, and the dress was nice also with them, but temperatures were too high so I decided for a sleeveless dress! I thought that a tailor could have sewn them again in the fuure ...

  5. I too love a man in uniform. It's hard to find women that don't really : )

    Your sleeveless solution is great.

  6. I love that you cut off the sleeves on that dress. You could sew them on a different shirt/jacket! jodie

  7. LOVE this dress! You look amazing in the dress and I love it paired with the black bag. And you are right, denim never goes out of style. In the Pacific Northwest we live in jeans as an example. What a clever post this is. I love the photos :)

  8. Your idea of removing the sleeves dress is perfect. Without them it is fine.
I love your shoes and your bag. They are precious.
    And also uniforms are precious.
    I have always loved

  9. Love your denim dress, I agree it is so much better without those sleeves. Italian men in uniform are so much more stylish than ours.(no real surprise there.)

    1. It was too hot for a dress with sleeves, and my idea turned out to be good!

There are many different uniforms in Italy. I like them all and always feel a sense of gratitude for those men who make our living safer ...

  11. I so long to come back when I see these photos. You and me and sunshine and terraces and cappuccinos... watching people go by. Heaven. The weather hasn't been really good here since I came back from Italy. Perhaps one day of sunshine and warmth, or perhaps two, but that is it. The sun shines more often, but then there is a fierce, cold wind. Not nice, no spring and it is already the end of May. So I can look at your pretty denim dress and think "I would have had to keep those sleeves: for the cold weather and for my old arms. But sleeveless it looks very nice." You are as elegant as ever. And those shoes are so good. They go with everything and you don't seem to get sore feet from them. The bag, ah the bag... a winner for a long time.

    1. We two can really enjoy a day around the city!! And always spend such perfect days together...

Yes, the dress would work better with sleeves in your part of the world. In any case I haven't trown away the sleeves and, if I need, I can sew them again ... you can never know!

  13. I was reading this and thinking "I used to have a dress just like that, but with sleeves." Then I got to the end of the post, what a great idea!! Love the shoes, you always have the prettiest ones. I do miss being able to wear high heels, but I haven't lost my appreciation of them.
