A fairy-tale city

During the last holidays I spent some days in Mantova.
It's  a small city  of about 40.000 inhabitants situated in the North East of Italy.

It is crossed by the river Mincio and there are canals in the city

Water adds to the place a magical vibe...

It was  cold in those days and here it is the best I could do to match warmth and fashion ...
( not a very good result anyway )
I  can't tell you how cold it was!!!

Despite the low temperatures there were cafes with tables in the open air where people were comfortably sipping coffee...
( the one above was empty because closed the day I took the photo )

Many touristic attractions

Of special beauty

I enjoyed the tour so much!!
( another example of veeeeery relaxed outfit)

Never mind... I will look more elegant next week!

P.s
Sorry, I couldn't resist to publish a  last  ( silly) photo...
:-)

  1. What a wonderful trip---it looks so pretty and magical!!
But you do look fabulous Dan!! Especially compared to what I see here in the States---kudos to you for wearing a skirt!!
It's amazing to me that people would sit outside when it's so cold---I'm quite the wimp when it comes to that!

    1. Nowadays elegance is not common here either, it's such a pity!

I happen to sit outside in winter but not in very cold days...about 0 degrees is not what I call ... a comfortable temperature for enjoying a cappuccino!! :-)

    1. The cold forced me to wear too many clothes and didn't feel at ease !

Really you have never been to Italy ? It is a crazy country but beautiful...

  4. I think it is impossible for you not to look elegant. I love both outfits. The skirt with the red jacket is lifted from the ordinary with that beautiful scarf and the bag. And the Sienna tower stripes in the sleeves of your camel sweater is beautiful on its own. Together with the fur another fun outfit. Don't you ever believe you are just plain. For us, mere mortals, you are elegance in persona. Always. And the town Mantova is exquisite, like so many Italian cities.

    1. Are you sure that you are referring to me???
I felt my looks were ugly and so I just included two photos of them into the post...
Luckily it seems that different points of view on the subject are possible!!!
That is why I love blogging!! :-)

  7. Great to see Mantova, I have never seen pictures of it before! It's hard I find to look stylish when it's cold, but you succeeded beautifully!

    1. At first sight the city seemed to be an ordinary one. Then, little by little it started to touch my heart...I think I would like it even more in spring!

  10. Mantova is beautiful! Those ceiling pictures are stunning and even if it was cold, look, blue sky!...we don't see it much in the UK. (even in summmer, lol) Loving the red jacket and scarf, not sure about the head dress in the last picture though! x
