My necklace is ready!

I am back home after some days near the sea...just to start properly my holidays ! ( I will soon let you know ) Today I have  great news: I have  finished the necklace I was making myself...

I have used 33 irregular pearls and 5 woodden rings. It hasn't been too difficult, just a bit longer than usual.

It took me some days to make but I find it goes well with my Sicilian earrings,

so I am quite satisfied with the result...

Today I am wearing my pink dress which has a ribbon on the front ( Luisa Spagnoli ) and the bag you have already seen in my last post.

It was in the morning when I took the photos and perhaps there was too much light. Next time I will snap in the afternoon, I promise!

  4. Dan, this is such a pretty necklace. I do some wire work, and fully understand the time involved with making each of those wire loops. The large wooden beads mixed with the fresh water pearls create a lovely yin/yang appeal!

    Pretty dress too!

    1. Hi Josep, I wanted that the details were clearly visible, so I am glad I have got it. ( I find it so hard to take good quality photos! )

  6. Elegance and beauty swirl through your new handmade necklace, dear Dan - it is so tremendously classic - and classy, and will go with a thousand different outfits (which is part of the reason why I love pearls so very much myself, too).

Wishing you a July as gorgeous as you look here,
    ♥ Jessica

*PS* Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your immensely caring comment regarding our flooded basement. I'm so grateful that not too many items were damaged beyond repair (things could have been so, so much worse in that regard, had the water risen higher and/or we not gotten to it really quickly), but am not as pleased about the floor repair bill, which will be for several thousand dollars. Fingers crossed this is the one and only time our basement ever floods!!!

  7. Dan, your necklace is gorgeous. You're an artist.
I like the contrast of the beads and rings. I was very good.
Your dress sounds perfect pink. It looks good, is stylish and seems comfortable.
    Can not ask for more.
It is true that the light in the photos was not the best. But they are beautiful.
    You look very pretty
    Kisses

    1. I like pink because is delicate and classical. I have some clothes in that colour and I always feel confortable in them. I am glad you like my new necklace, it took me some days to make all the wire loops. . .
. . .the photos in your blog are wonderful: you have to tell me some secrets!

    1. Yes, pearls and wood are nice together. When I make jewelry I often combine different kind of beads ( but I don't always get a good result! )

    1. It was the first time I made a necklace this way. It has been long but not very difficult. . .

  11. I think taking photos in the afternoon is terrible or it should be late afternoon with dim light. So I think these photos are fine.
Lovely dress and what a pretty necklace. You managed to make a contemporary necklace with simple and classic material. Well done.
I tried this as well and chose some beads last year but only managed to make a "bluh" necklace. Not nice. I admire you.

    1. . . . so it is better to avoid the early afternoon to take photo. . . I will try later. . .
I often buy beads for making stuff but I find it difficult to put them together in a way that I feel special. Last time I was to Ventimiglia I bought carnelian and coral for a new necklace . ( I think that is because I am on holiday and have a lot of spare time! )
I din't know you made necklaces too. I think I have never seen any in your blog. . .

    2. I don't make them. I tried two times and decided I had no creativity in this field. But sometimes I order a bead shop to make something pretty from beads I choose. Hopeless too.

    3. Those kind shops are a source of inspiring ideas to me!
