That was crisis, girls!

Last week I missed my weekly appointment with my blog...I am sorry about that but I have found it so difficoult to post recently.

I started blogging last February when spring was about to start...

so I didn't realized how hard it would have been to take photos in cold months!

The first   reason concerns lack of light (details of clothes and accessories aren't clearly visible )

The  second  problem is about low temperatures ( how can I take photos in the open air with no coat on ? )

And finally...my clothes! Warm ones in fact aren't very photogenic!! ( and I suffer so much low temperatures )

But here is getting colder and colder, and even Mr. Bangio had to wear his warm coat!

Last week I have been looking carefully your blogs, girls...and I missed you so much, my dears

so, I made up my mind to do my best...and now I do hope I can soon improve!

In the meantime a delicious chocolate muffin and a creamy cappuccino surely can make me feel better!!

  1. Everyone has the same problem at this time of year. Now I have snow to contend with as well as the fading light. I think the only people who aren't suffering are those in the southern hemisphere.

You still look lovely. Those tights are cool and your doggie looks cute! : )

    Stay warm!

    bisous

    1. Sharing the problem with other bloggers is making me feel better. . . I had the feeling I had become unable to post!! It would be nice to see the snow in your surroundings. . .

    1. You are very kind Rebecca, and I do appreciate your words. . . Mr. Bangio is an old fellow so he needs a warm coat!

  3. It's good to see you again looking ever so stylish! I love your cute sweater with the pretty tights and booties. Everyone has the same problem with the cold and diminishing light. The temperature here can dip to -20 below zero in January and February so outside is impossible. I think the picture near the window is good idea, I can see the details in your clothes. What about taking pictures at an art museum? Usually a lot of light there.

    1. First of all I want thank you for the comment on my previous post and tell you it would be a pleasure for me to help you next time!
The idea of the art museum seems to be very good! ( I am just wondering if in Italy it is allowed to take photos there. . .)
And let me add that in your wonderful blog every post is so perfect. . .

    2. Sometimes I do take a bad set of pictures and have to retake them. Wrong shoes, bad light, too windy or hair that needs to be cut. I'm also dyslexic so writing is very difficult for me. I use the speech option so I hear what I write. All of you that write in English as second language truly amaze me. This is a skill I couldn't imagine!

As Sue says, you do a wonderful blog in a charming and unique voice that I enjoy. Blogging and commenting does take much effort. I really think this set of pictures looks good.

    3. I don't know exactly why, but I have always thought that your posts were easy to do for you...just a few clicks and some words which for me are always perfect...
The fact is that everything in your blog is a beauty! My photos requires an effort as well as write in English . And I am never sure to express myself in a comprehensible way!!

  4. Hi Dan! I always fondly remember that when I first discovered your blog, we would see Mr. Bangio and maybe a few sights, or the coffee shop...and I love that about your blog! Yes, of course, you always look stylish, beautiful, and have the very chicest accessories, but I love this post with the muffin and the cappuccino, and Mr. Bangio too!. So, do whatever works best for you, just don't stop blogging.

I love these soft shades you are wearing, the teal looks marvelous with the taupe/grey tones. Great shoes/booties as well.

    1. What a beautiful comment, Sue! I was thinking about your words and, yes there is something ( I can't define what it is ) which make a blog nice to follow. . . yes, your point of view is definitely right! So, thanks!

  5. Dan, I am so with you! We already have snow in Bavaria and morning temperatures down to -14C. With sunshine it is ok to take outside photos but when it is grey, it's almost impossible... I am a real summer person and always suffer during the winter season.

However, your look is gorgeous! I need to get a pair of these tights, they are so stylish. Also, I love the petrol blue it suits you so well!
Glad, Mr Bangio is staying warm ;-)

    1. - 14C is a freezing temperature, Annette! Being stylish with such a cold must be very hard. . . ( and you are always perfect!! )
I often buy my tights at Calzedonia since they usually have nice patterns and colours. Their shops are everywhere in Italy

  6. Dan, do not worry, the photos inside are also nice. I disagree with you, looks warm can also be beautiful, have more room and need more imagination, but are beautiful. I like your look today, the color scheme is nice and balanced, and stockings are beautiful. I see a different hairstyle? I like.

    1. Yes Josep, winter fashion requires great imagination! ( and I have had some trouble with mine recently. . . ) But one of the good sides of blogging is that it forces you to keep on trying!!

My hair are a bit shorter than usual and have a slightly different style. Iam glad that you like it. . .

  7. We all have slow times on our blogs, no worries! Perhaps if you are lacking outfits of your own to share, you can post things that you are thinking of for when warmer temperatures return? I love Bangio's jacket, Miss Laney has to much fur to wear one like that comfortably. She does have a rain jacket though!

  8. I am glad that you like it. . . thanks!

  9. I had some difficulties in taking photos, and you suggest a good alternative. . .
Your Laney is a very nice dog with sweet eyes. He has got a wonderful fur and probably doesn't need a coat. It would be cute to see her wearing the rain jacket!!

  10. Ah Dan, I so see your problem. And yes I have been standing outside last winter in the freezing weather taking pictures. Life of a model is hard haha. And yes it is difficult in winter. I started half November (hey... My 1 year blog anniversary has passed wiithout celebration. Never mind.) so I know what I am up against. Perhaps the photo tips of Catherine of Not dressed as lamb can help you? Here is a link to her post of photographing in the rain. http://www.notdressedaslamb.com/2013/10/photographing-outfits-in-rain.html
At the top navigation of her blog you will find more useful information under the tab Phototips. Catherine is a professional photographer and used to teached it. She is very good in explaining.
Furthermore... Lack of light or not, I can see you are looking very elegant. Lovely colours, lovely combination, great tigts. And of course your perfect new bag.
Your hair looks very nice. Nice and thick.

    1. I have thick hair and for that reason I often have some difficolties in keeping it in order. . . Thanks for suggesting me Catherine's blog: I will have a look!
At the moment I am trying to understand WHY it is so hard for me to take nice
      photos in winter. . .

    2. I can tell you why: 1) vague pictures due to bad light, 2) vague pictures due to not knowing how to handle your camera indoors.... These are just two reasons I struggle with (there are more) so I presume you have the same trouble.
But yes, you can take pictures outside, cold or not. Just have everything ready, then sprint outside during the day (weekends usually) when it is sunny and not raining, have some photos taken and sprint back inside where it is warm.
I do not agree with you that warm clothes are not photogenic. If you want inspiration, have a look at my old posts from last year. Lots of winter clothes there.

    3. You are absolutely right, my dear! Your two reasons are mine too!! I am trying to follow all the advice I had from bloggers. . . I think something good should happen!
Very cute idea to sprint outside and then back inside :-D
I am trying to imagine myself running down two floors of stairs and reach the street in front of the building where I live with Mr. Bangio barking at my back. . .

  11. Dan, take photos in winter is a kind of obstacle course.
But your formula photograph you in a cafe that's fine.
I love your coat, fur collar and set in blue. You are beautiful and elegant.
In Spain we also have very cold.
    kisses

  12. Cafes are delightful places, warm and friendly: I love them! So, for some winter posts they could work! The only problem is that sometimes there isn't enough light in there!!
Very coldld everywhere at the moment, what a pity!!

  13. I got problems to take outfit pictures too. Your pictures a good and I like your outfit. The sweater has a nice color. Mr bangio looks also great in his coat.

You look elegant and your photos are good too. You know in Thailand where I am living now, when the sun is too strong, we can't see details of clothes and accessories either :))
