Welcome home!

I tried to brighten up my  mood with a very red lipstick

And  warm my heart with Christmas decorations

But my home remained terribly empty

So, when a volunteer of the local shelter asked me is I had any room for a two years old guy which had already been abandoned twice ...

... I said YES!

And then this little being arrived.

Once again I felt that love warms more than a thousand fires ...

and named him Grillo (which is the Italian word for cricket ) ...

  1. Welcome, welcome little Grillo! It's not about filling Mr. Bangio's very big, and very lovable shoes; after all he was one of a kind as are you. It is about filling Dan's heart with unconditional love, and it looks like you've already achieved that.

Many blessings Dan...to you and your little cricket! He has the most soulful eyes.

  4. Your story (which is wonderful) reminded me of this

It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them, and every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are. - Anonymous

  6. I knew it. I knew it. You cannot live without a dog. Mr Bangio would be so pleased that you can feel the love of a dog again and that you can give a dog a warm and loving home again.

  9. Isn't he cute?!?! I'm glad he has found a new home, so sad that he was having such a tough time of it. I totally hear you on the house feeling empty, my husband and I had similar issues when we had our golden retriever put down. It was the first time I hadn't had a pet since I was 16, a very strange feeling. Congrats to you both!

  13. How cute you look in this outfit. I really like the colourful pleated skirt and the belted cardi is a nice touch too. I wish I could wear bright lipstick with confidence - I think it maybe makes me look like a clown. Grillo looks like he could be a dog with a bit of mischief about him!

    1. My skirt is from the spring/summer collection, but with a warm cardigan and a pair of boots it can work also in the cold season!

A dog means joy and love ... and I felt I was ready for a new friend ...

  17. I knew it! You found another wonderful dog to love. I lost my cat after a short illness (12 years old) and was so blue, I couldn't wait to bring another kitty into my life. You look beautiful and I wish you many years of love with your new dog.

  18. My dear Dan, Grillo is a little sweetie and suits his name "Cricket"! The best part of this story is that you rescued him! Being abandoned twice, he now has his forever home with you! I wish more people would adopt pets at their local shelter instead of buying a new puppy (which many come from horrible puppy mills where the mothers of the puppies suffer terrible lives--so sad.

By the way, your outfit is gorgeous, I love the colour combination, perfect for a stylish lady--YOU!!!

    Merry Christmas!
